Chocolate rose mask

What To Do With Your Left Over Valentine's Day Gifts!

If you were lucky enough to receive roses and chocolates for Valentine’s day then here is a great way to treat your skin with a gift.  Instead of eating the chocolate and letting the roses just wilt in a vase you can make a antioxidant mask out of them. Even if you did not receive any you can still make this at home.

Think of feeding your skin with these two great ingredients. Nowadays, chocolate and rose facials are gaining popularity due to there high skin benefits. But now lets combine the two. Cocoa powder, which is what chocolate is made of, is known to be a powerful antioxidant. Using a chocolate on your skin can help keep skin clear and hydrated. It helps in reversing the signs of aging. It moisturizes the skin and protects the skin from sun damage and also tightens the skin by maintaining the collagen production.

Not only do roses smell and look great, but their petals actually have significant, amounts of vitamin C, and skin-firming rose oil. Roses have rejuvenating, toning, moisturizing and refreshing effects but also healing qualities. They have antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, and aromatherapy properties.  It's astringent properties aid in the tightening of skin and muscles.

Roses helps with preventing redness or rosacea signs due to its vasoconstriction capillary  action.

Ingredients

1-2 roses
chocolate bar or cacao powder ( 70 percent cacao or more)
1 tablespoon yogurt

 Directions:

Take the petals off of one to two roses and ripe them into small pieces. Soak them in water for a hour. (the water should only  cover the rose petals) Strain out petals and pour water into clean bowl. In a separate bowl Put the chocolate in microwave for a few seconds to soften it, then combine it with the yogurt, crushed rose petals and rose water. Mix all the ingredients to form a paste. Apply all over the face and leave it on for 15 minutes or until dry.

What you are putting inside makes a difference on the outside!

Want healthy skin? Treat it right and it will respond. What you eat and drink  all affect your skin. Forget the pop and drink ONE cup of coffee a day.  Drink tea and lots of water the rest of the day. The caffeine in the coffee and tea may help protect you from skin cancer. They are a great source of antioxidants.   Think fruits and veggies like grapefruit  and watermelon that are high in lycopene. The lycopene may shield the skin from  UV damage and smooth the skin. Carrots, spinach, broccoli and pumpkin are powerhouse protectors for the skin. Don't skip the protein like tuna, egg yolks and sardines.  Remember what you are putting inside makes  a difference on the outside! www.bellomoi.com
