Wish you a happy Independence Day.

Summer is in full swing, and Bello Moi wants to wish you a happy Independence Day. We hope your skin stays as bright and glowing as the firework displays! If you’re enjoying some time outdoors this holiday weekend, make sure you keep your skin safe, protected and healthy – nothing ruins a barbecue like a painful sunburn. While sunburn lines can look a bit like the stripes on the American flag, it’s not the best way to display your patriotic spirit. Here are some reminders on sun protection for the long weekend so you can get out and enjoy yourself: Wear Sunscreen. It is incredibly important that you reapply your sunscreen every 3 to 4 hours, or more frequently if you are in and out of the water or sweating! Sunscreen is effective, but it can’t protect you from every ray. Be sure to pack SPF lip balm, long-sleeved cover-ups, a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses with UV protection in your beach bag. A baseball cap won't protect your face from sun coming at an angle. Opt for a...

Powerful antioxidants

Powerful antioxidants can make the difference between dull and radiant skin. Bello Moi Multi Peptide Complex uses vitamins E and C (which are stronger against free radicals when used in tandem) and green tea in this well-designed formulation for both preventing damage and softening fine lines. The combination of antioxidants work together to make your skin glow. Antioxidants are nutrients and enzymes that prevent and repair damage to your body’s tissue, so including them in your everyday routine is a great way to naturally boost your skin’s health. Their name comes from their ability to block the effects of free radicals, which start oxidation and cause damage to your skin cells. You can get antioxidants either from your skincare or your diet. They are most common in foods that are brightly coloured, like peppers, oranges and blueberries. In terms of skin care, look for products that contain vitamins A, C or E, flavonoids and polyphenols. By including more antioxidants in your regime, ...

Wake up your dull skin

Wake up your dull skin.  Products with vitamin C, licorice root, and other antioxidants and anti-inflammatory ingredients help to deliver nutrients to brighten your skin. Hydroquinone can work well in fighting discoloration, but it has a high absorption rate into the skin. It also has carcinogenic properties. Instead try serums with niacinamide, kojic acid, and licorice extract that work best for pigment fighting. A great product to give your skin a glow is our Lightening Rejuvenating Crème . This non-hydroquinone skin lightening cream will help to reduce hyper-pigmentation, brown spots and skin discoloration caused by sun and environmental damage. Glycolic acid exfoliates the top of the skin to allow the extra ingredients of arbutin, licorice, niacinamide, and mulberry to work synergistically to gently reduce pigmentary problems and brighten the skin for an overall glow.

Serums, Creams, Suncreens and Eye Creams. What to do with all of these?

Serums, Creams, Sunscreens and Eye Creams.   What to do with all of these? To ensure that your skin is getting the most out of each product you have to know the order to apply. If you don't put your products on in the proper order, not only will the products not work effectively, it's a waste of money, time, and effort . A good rule of thumb is to go from lightest to heaviest and layer water-based products under oil-based products. It is best to apply most products when the skin is moist because active ingredients can penetrate better when they are dissolved. Serums are the thinnest products so they go first. They usually have antioxidants or peptides to minimize the day’s damage done to your skin and to give you a more youthful appearance. Serums are highly concentrated and fast-penetrating fluids designed to target specific skin concerns. If you apply your serums over your moisturizers, you won’t get all the benefits. Eye cream should b...
